Husky Wushu

About

The Husky Wushu Team is a student organization at the University of Washington that practices and promotes Wushu, a form of contemporary Chinese martial arts. Throughout the year, we practice, perform demonstrations, and compete at various events. Our team comprises of students from different experience levels, ages, and backgrounds. We welcome all who want to stop by and practice with us.

Train

For summer quarter we practice at the UW IMA Studio 111 on Wednesdays from 7pm-9pm. Please contact us if you are interested in dropping by practice, so we can communicate any changes/updates!

Demonstrate

We perform Wushu Demonstrations throughout the year at events such as CSA's Lunar New Year, and Sakura-Con!

Compete

We compete at events such as the Chinese Martial Arts Tournament, Collegiate Wushu Tournament, and Seattle International Martial Arts Championship.

Collegiates

On Saturday April 8th, 2017, the Husky Wushu Team was honored to host the 21st National Collegiate Wushu Tournament. Over 140 competitors from over 20 different colleges competed at the UW IMA! Thank you to all the volunteers, judges, and competitors who helped make this event happen! Congratulations to the All Around Champions: Hoan Chung (External Male), Emily Fan (External Female), Matthew Tay (Internal Male), and Gina Bao (Internal Female), and congratulations to the Cal Mushu A Team for winning the Team Competition!
